Prophecy Productions

Theatre originated with the intent of speaking to God’s people. Today professional theatre as a ministerial tool is nearly unheard of. However, Christian theatre is more than a lost art. It is in fact a missing link to coming closer to evangelizing the whole world. The empty seats in church congregations all around may remain unless we discover audiences unwilling to attend services, but more than willing to see the lights, feel the emotion and experience the drama of the stage. Can the Body of Christ afford to lose another soul at the risk of withholding God given talents meant to be shared with a lost world? We can not. Proverbs 18:16 says, “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”

How many of us have heard a powerful story and been compelled to change? Even Jesus himself told life-changing parables. Them he promised us that we would do greater works. A modern life changing parable in addition to spectacular lights lite on terrific acting, with a mixture of phenomenal dance to just the right amount of music laid out on a set may be just the thing to qualify as a great work. And that’s just what we did…we got to work.
 

Prophecy Productions is a Christian theatre company that produces musical stage plays incomparable to what is typical of both gospel and secular plays. With the intent to minister, inform and entertain we bring powerful messages to stages locally and abroad. With these God given messages we aim to change the world with the effective ministry of theatre. Our casts are carefully chosen by guidance of the Holy Spirit to insure that each production is more than amusing, but powerful enough to change lives. Every performance is a worship experience and presents an opportunity for audiences to encounter the presence of God.

Prophecy Productions chooses scripts that emulate modern day scenarios, exploring more than biblical stories. Our plays bring life real events, issues and characters making it easy for audiences to relate. They also vary widely in subject matter and style, but are consistent in presenting lively music, vigorous dance and emotionally stirring acting. We aim to take a new genre of Christian theatre to the very ends of the earth without compromising holiness, but exciting this world with a fiery passion for God.

Mission

We will revolutionize theatre, giving back to God the talents granted to us.  We will reclaim theatre returning it to its ancient purpose in a modern era. We will perfect theatre as more than performers, but artistic worshippers and preachers of mobile parables.  We will preserve theatre, keeping it consistently rich in uniqueness and still true morality.  We the ministers of the gospel, through the arts, by the gifting of the Holy Spirit are "Prophecy Productions", the tongue of God scene by scene.

"City Shakers, City Takers"

About the Play

City Shakers, City Takers" was written by Wynkia J. Sutton as directed by God in the spring of the year 2000.  This script does not read easily to the natural eye due to it's spiritual purpose.  These intents are to awake and alert a chosen generation of young people through the entertainment and diversion of a musical stage play.

The main character, a teenager rooted in his faith in God, is challenged by his own inner struggle to maintain sanctity in a household full of malevolence and iniquity.  He is only one of the multitude of young extremist in what will become the revolution of the irresolvable so-called "Generation X".  In this outstanding production, see the rapid and riotous spread of God using the youth of our nation in miraculous endeavors.  Witness the struggle of the main character take the nation to a place that will shake the nation like never before.

This production is not typical of what is found in either secular theatre or gospel theatre.  In a category of it's own, the script brings music and dance together with drama varying from styles of hip-hop, to rock, to Broadway, to interpretational, to gospel and the list goes on.  Each character brings a diversity of it's own to the stage as well.  This gives the audience an opportunity to identify with a common personality.  By making it easy to find a piece of oneself in a fictional character, the audience is urged to change their ways, and therefore improve our society.

As with any other profound literary work, messages in this script may be individualized.  However, it is very clear that the purpose of this play is to provoke our world to unite in the name of Jesus, particularly the younger generation.  In this play you will see the circumstances of several young people who take a stand against immorality and how it, in the end, affects the entire nation.
